Visit the Distillery
Located just 25 minutes north of Hobart in Southern Tasmania, the Derwent Distillery cellar door sits in the riverside township of Dromedary in the Derwent Valley, on the banks of the iconic Derwent River. We’re an easy drive from the historic town of New Norfolk and the renowned MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), making us a perfect stop on a Hobart or Derwent Valley distillery visit.
Join us at our cellar door for Tasmanian gin, whisky and liqueur tastings, featuring our current small-batch releases and the occasional opportunity to sample select archival spirits, all while enjoying the peaceful riverside surroundings. Tours are by bookings only (see below).
Visitors are welcome to drop in to the cellar door Wednesday to Friday, 11am – 4pm.
Please note the cellar door is closed on public holidays.

Guided Behind the Scenes Distillery Tour
Step inside Derwent Distillery for an immersive guided tour of our picturesque, riverside distillery in Dromedary, Tasmania. Led by our onsite distillers, you'll explore the rich history of the distillery, gain insight into our whisky and gin craft, and see our copper stills. Visit our bond store and get an up-close look at the barrels where our single malt whiskies are matured.
Each tour includes four exclusive tastings - gin, single malt whisky, and liqueur, with some served straight from the cask for a truly authentic experience. Guests also receive $10 off any cellar door purchase at the end of their tour.

Battery Point Tasting House
If you're exploring Hobart, you can also visit the Derwent Distillery Tasting House in Battery Point, one of the city’s most historic waterfront neighbourhoods.
Located at 46 Hampden Road, Battery Point, our tasting house offers a welcoming place to taste and purchase our full range of Derwent Distillery spirits, including our single malt whisky, Last Sanctuary gin and liqueurs.

Salamanca Market
You can also find Derwent Distillery at Hobart’s famous Salamanca Market every weekend.
Located at the Davey Street end of Salamanca Market at site 83, our stall offers the opportunity to taste and purchase our spirits and learn more about our whisky, liqueur and gin.
